Does any know the proper engine service manual # for the Farmall
300 and Farmall 350 service manual? I got the IT manual and it
seems to lack quite a bit.
BTW, I went on the case IH website to order a pdf of the service
manual. I typed in 300 and Farmall 300 came up. When it
downloaded it was the wrong one and was for a case 300. I called
case Ih customer service to try to explain and get a refund or
access to the proper manual. The lady said basically I was SOL. PDF
were non refundable. So I am out $112. This is a bunch of BS in my
opinion. I have to call back monday to see if I can get anything
done with the service manager.
Thanks

Try the manuals section on the ytmag website. They list manuals for the tractors you mentioned.

Binder Books dot com has the best manuals, they are digital copies of the original IH manuals. Go to the website and you will find several choices, including parts manuals and the Blue Ribbon manuals for different parts of the tractors. There is also a separate manual for IH's 4 cylinder engines including the C169 in your 300. You need the parts manager, not the service manager. I see no advantage to PDF files as the original hard copies come either bound or punched for installation in a notebook. I find no advantage to the new version of the CaseIH website. I use the old version and order by part number from the local dealer or Carter and Gruenewald.

After 2 mistakes trying to get the right book for the fast hitch on the 460 560 tractors i bought the book i wanted off e-bay! Cheap, simple, and i got the book i wanted. On the bright side my local IH store sent the books back no charge to me and they did get me a very nice book for my 535 3/16 semi mount plow! Bud.

Well since you are bent on destroying a engine all for the sake of that bragging wright trophy at the coffee shop on Monday morning and you need help on BUILDING a cheater motor . First off ya need someone that knows how and all the in's and out's . Next ya need a progressive size engine part size book . Then ya need a BIG legal pad and a stack of pencils , some procession measuring tools as inside and out side mic. calipers dial indicators . a total machine shop and the big thing ya need is to be 3/4 crazy and play Star Trec. and go where no one has gone before . and be ready to make lots of spare pieces and parts. Then the other things that come into play , (1) be willing to waste and engine on each pass , (2) have a bottomless piggy bank . And the next big thing here is NOT taking advice from your competitor even IF he is your best friend. I have built some wild engines just from DUMPSTER DIVING literately . I E one M M engine i built for my accountant . All parts other then rings bearings and seals and gskt. and some of them were custom made came from the bottom of scrap dumpsters going from 335 cu in to 609 cu in and make that all fit into two totally scrap blocks .

Listen to the Tractor Vet. Please do not destroy that engine by NOT using sleeves.

A 300 Farmall is usually between classes. To heavy for some and not heavy enough for others. Over bore sleeves,
shaving the head about .080, and an electric fan, no operating generator, a reground 350 cam, and some manifold to
head matching is do able, and will cost moderately compared to finding the correct pistons with the bore you choose,
and the piston pin to piston top distance perfect. A stroker crank and running in the block work, but as the vet
indicates, it is a 10 dollar trophy. A pulling tractor that wins on several tracks is like a high value race horse.
You need to keep feeding it and you don't ride it very far/often. Jim

You would be a lot better off finding and old 'M' and work your way up you would be competitive in more classes, Better yet find an 'M' with the low low gear set. As others have said you will be limited in classes. I pull a Super C with a c-153 engine from time to time and find I can really only pull in 2 weight classes and be compeitive and if I really tell the truth I am only real OK in 1 class. But the fellows with old 'M' tractors seem to pull more classes

I have a C-169 in my H, running around 120 or so hp. The bore was completely cut out and
4' sleeves installed. Lot of crank, cam, and head work, and a lot of $$$. first off you
need to find a compotent machine/race shop who knows how to do the work required. E-mail
and i'll give you specs on the motor...Joe

If you went sleeveless what would you do
about counter bore ? And there prably is no
such piston. Plus you run risk of hairline
crack in bore and water getting in oil.
Sounds like a nitemare
